There is something quite nasty about this film, with blood, gore, severed limbs and explosions mixed with family scenes and the odd laugh. Irishman Colm Meaney provides sarcasm and a laugh or two as Detective Dunnigan but Leslie Bibb, as Nick’s apprentice Sarah, suffers from being lumbered with a pretty pointless character.įorget a calm build-up as the movie starts with a real gut-punch sequence and it paints a grim portrait of the US justice system. Clyde is like a mix of Saw’s Jigsaw and Hannibal Lector. He is funny, menacing and slightly camp as he chews asparagus and scenery. Clyde’s vengeance threatens both Nick and the whole city of Philadelphia.
